The Early Childhood program at Mary, Queen of Peace encourages curiosity and emphasizes respect for self and others. Our program seeks to cultivate a sense of wonder in young children about themselves, their world, and their God. It develops within each child an awareness that he or she is special within the framework of a loving, Catholic atmosphere.
In this environment, children are introduced to letters and sounds, counting, centers, and religion. Students receive instruction daily in language arts, math, science, social studies and religion. Additionally, all early childhood students attend weekly P.E., art, music, and library classes.
This well-rounded program enables students to develop academically, socially, and spiritually, and encourages them to become lifelong learners. Each classroom is staffed with both a certified teacher and a full-time assistant.
Mary, Queen of Peace provides a solid foundation for students in the elementary grades. Our teachers use rigorous instructional practices to promote critical thinking within a nurturing environment. Using blended learning techniques teachers are able to work with students at varying levels to best address their needs. We believe that students can achieve academic success and become lifelong learners.
Students in first and second grade are taught in self-contained classes and our third grades students move between two teachers for academic instruction.
In addition to academic coursework, we offer a variety of enrichment opportunities for our lower school students including the following: Physical Education, Art, Computer, STREAM, Library, Music, and Spanish.
